Fmil believes she can see us because she is vaccinated? I'm isolating waiting for results

I had a constant fever for 2 days between 38-41degrees, body aches, headache. Day after I was fine but things tasted different., garlic like fish etc
2 after that my taste is fine.
I understand that theres bugs going round but I'd rather be safe. I messed up the pcr test, posted it in the wrong letter box (had half of an nhs sticker on) so I've done another and results will be today.

Mil is double jabbed and seems to think she is exempt and can see LO and me.
3 of my family members have had covid double jabbed, 2 of them of got it twice. I've explained how she can still pick it up and pass it on. She still thinks she is in the clear. I've told her to stay away.

Is she in the wrong or am i? Am I being unreasonable? can she see us.

Of course you're right.

Yes, she wouldn't have to isolate afterwards if she did come to visit you. But you are isolating, and part of that is that you don't have visitors. Frankly it sounds like you need some peace and quiet anyway. Can she take the kids out instead of seeing you?

You’re right, she’s wrong. Stay firm!

Have you had a PCR?

redfernstation · 03/10/2021 08:00

of course you are right

Doesn't really matter whether technically she can or can't - you are right to be cautious and if she thinks that being double jabbed is some kind of magic that means she's totally safe she needs to get herself better informed ASAP.
And YOU would rather not see her - so you call the shots. Just tell her you wish to protect her whether she agrees or not - don't budge.

I do worry 10% think its ok to visit someone whilst isolating. My teen has covid symptoms. I went to work yesterday because i am double jabbed. He is going for a pcr but i will remain home as much as possible.
