Hi all,

My son just turned 6 months old and for the past week has had an awful rash on his face which will flare throughout the day from about mid morning. It is causing him to itch his eyes non stop and they look like little welts, GP said definitely an allergic reaction we are now waiting to get in for the allergy test but in the mean time we have two big dogs... he has been interacting with them more now he is sitting. Could it be an allergy to the dogs appearing? A puppy licked his eye about a month ago while we were on a walk by accident and his eye swelled - I thought it was just a coincidence :(

One of our dogs is reactive too and really scared of people. I’m so scared thinking it’s a bad dog allergy

Wow seems like some dog related allergy. My son has a cat allergy and cannot be in a room where there is a cat.
I'd vacuum thoroughly and keep the dog away from any rooms that baby goes into. Were you given antihistamines in the meantime? Hope you get the appointment soon.

Allergy eye drops work well but not sure on age suitability.

You could get any air purifier we have a vax one that works well.
Also an allergy spray that you spray in the air works well too.
I am an expert on cat allergy but not so much dog.

Please get your son properly tested for dog allergy. My daughter is extremely allergic to dog dander and in an extreme case (I.e if a dog bit her and dander got into her bloodstream) she could go into anaphylactic shock.

There is a petal cleanse liquid for cat allergy which you stroke onto cat. There might be similar for dog allergy.

Yes could be a dog allergy. Glad you are getting him tested. Might want to start taking steps to keep them apart if it’s a strong suspected allergy. Poor boy must be miserable.
