Had a pretty crap day.
I'm exhausted after dealing with 3 year old who had temp for 5 days before we could see a Dr and find out he had ear infection and throat infection.

Then DH came down with chest infection and he's been very up and down this week. Today he was really struggling for breath. So much so, he's currently in a and e.

I have a stress head ache, got the boys to bed and the neighbours are having a bloody drunken party. Complete with banging in what sounds like the adjoining wall. They are fairly new neighbours. This could be their housewarming. I know it's not their fault that both my boys rooms have the adjoining wall.

Can I send a message asking for them to stop the banging? Or do I just suck it up and put the boys in my bed if they wake.

Bang back

Do you have a number to send a message?

BakingOfTheFoodCats · 02/10/2021 20:52

Do you actually have their number? Personally I wouldn’t just because I would be worried about starting off on the wrong foot, neighbours Can really make your life hell if you fall out with them (speaking from bitter experience)

I would message saying you've sick children trying to sleep and would they mind terribly trying to keep the noise down a bit? I don't see a problem with that

God I hate people. Living in adjoining properties but having parties and banging on walls.
Nobody cares do they?

martingrowler · 02/10/2021 21:22

I don't think you can realistically say anything at this time of the evening. It's annoying yes, of course it is, but it's not excessive to have a party on a Saturday night. Especially as you say it's probably their house warming.
