Colleague has lupus and going through a bad flare of it.
Boss asked her how she was and colleague replied with "Quite bad actually. I think the medication needs to be increased. " Boss was sympathetic etc but then a few days later asked colleague how her depression was and if the medication for it has been given. Aibu to think it weird she said that? Colleague just has lupus and not disclosed mental health issues?

Yes, very weird question!

Weird question! Did you boss misunderstand what Lupus was? It's not a common illness so I'm wondering if there has been some crossed wires?

Aquamarine1029 · 01/10/2021 19:23

The boss asked this in front of other people? They shouldn't have asked at all, but in front of others makes it especially bad.

I wonder if your colleagues on immunosuppressents and the boss has misheard as antidepressants?

BlossomOnTrees · 01/10/2021 22:06

Possibly but I don't think that was even mentioned (saying what medication she was on).
All very weird.
