What do I say?

I've got a phone conversation with occy health next week to hopefully get a start date for my new job. I had the interview in July (!) don't love how slow the nhs is?! Anyway I declared my mental health issues and they want to have a chat about what accommodations I might need.

I've had diarrhoea and constant pain since early august saw the Gp face to face yesterday so she could examine me and she's immediately asking to refer me for an urgent colonoscopy in the 2 week cancer pathway. My dad died at 48 from bowel cancer, so that's probably why tbh

But what do I say to occy health? I mean I could have had the thing by the time I speak to them as they're quite quick, but if I haven't, and she requests my medical records to see my depression history will they see 2 week cancer referral on my notes?

I don't think they have any right to be looking at your medical notes.

They'd have to have consent to do that, and it seems unreasonably intrusive.

Firstly I hope everything goes ok! I would be open and honest with them -your new work placa cannot discriminate against you based on your medical history, but is required to make reasonable adjustments. If you dont mention everything now, but need support later, it may be harder to get it implemented. All the best and good luck in your new job x

They do have the right to look at medical information. Many roles do, Social Work, Police etc.
What's your worry with them seeing it? It won't change the job offer.

Social workers and police can't look at your medical records without consent or a court order.
