Poor focus and retention

I was a bit of a daydreamer as a child so I wonder how much off this is just who I’ve always been. Now as an adult I don’t daydream/have much off an imagination but I find myself easily distracted by other thoughts if I’m listening/reading to something and I also struggle to retain information. I’m good with day to day to practical stuff and well organised but when it comes to new concepts and knowledge I really struggle. For example I’ll read a really interesting book/listen to an interesting podcast and a few hours later I’ll remember very little off it. Anyone else the same? Any tips?

Bumping for you

My focus and retention isn’t what it used to be. I put it down to my internet usage, moving from one topic to another rather than focusing on one issue for long periods. That’s my theory but I have no way of knowing if there’s any truth to it. You’re not menopausal are you? I’ve heard the menopause can make women struggle mentally.

Oh my god. I literally posted this exact same thing on an unrelated thread about half an hour ago. Will watch this one with interest as in the other one I asked if anyone else suffers the same, or if it had a particular name.

Not menopausal but I have had kids in the last few years and I feel like it’s a bit worse but then again it’s always been an issue

Have you looked into ADD. My adult daughter is diagnosed and has the same issues.
