Is baby too cold?

My baby fell asleep in just a short sleeved vest (DH put her to bed, no idea why he didn’t use her sleeping bag). I’ve put a thin cellular blanket over her. It’s 20c in her room, will she be too cold? Should I risk waking her up to put her in her sleeping bag?

Baby is one if that makes a difference!

I would think more cover would be best from what you described. How old though? If she felt warm enough on her chest, I'd wait until she woke. Don't panic though. She'll be fine.

One! Sorry, I missed that!

BlueMoons90 · 29/09/2021 00:14

If she's too cold she's very likely to wake up. If/when she wakes up pop her sleeping bag on. X

The ideal room temperature for a newborn is 16-20 degrees so probably less than you think. It’s also much safer for them to be slightly cool than slightly warm. I wouldn’t worry.

peasoup8 · 29/09/2021 00:21

I worry about this stuff too, but if she’s too cold then surely she will wake up and let you know?

WhereIsMumHiding3 · 29/09/2021 00:25

It's not that warm overnight, temperature drops quickly unless you have heating in overnight

So I'd just slip her into her usual baby sleeping bag if I were you unless she feels hot to touch .

Google: Gro company what to wear

You type in age, weight and room temp and it tells you exactly what they should have on.
Hope that helps x

At one she'll wake you up if she's cold so don't wake her up yourself. Plus they're better off being too cold than too warm.

Paperyfish · 29/09/2021 02:20

Hell no. Just spent 45 mins getting mine back down. If she’s cold she’ll wake and you can put her sleep bag on then!

immersivereader · 29/09/2021 02:26

Don't wake her but I'd put another blanket on.

Newmum29 · 29/09/2021 02:35

I’d add some blankets

SpringRainbow · 29/09/2021 02:38

I wouldn’t unless she woke up.
