To think that Claudia Webbe is not fit to be an MP

The reports about the Court case for Claudia Webbe, MP for Leicester East, make very concerning reading - eg www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/sep/27/mp-accused-of-making-acid-threat-to-friend-of-her-partner-court-hears-claudia-webbw

How on earth did she get to be an MP?

Yes I agree, it doesn’t sound good.
Will she have to resign as MP?

YANBU

Nasty piece of work

Cabinfever10 · 27/09/2021 22:52

She is an absolute disgrace.
I really wasn't surprised to see that she's a Labour mp (now had whip removed) as they seem to attract quite a few unstable people who have no problem issuing threats of death and violence. Probably because they know Stammer etc al don't care enough to kick these sorts of people out of the party, just ask Rosie Duffield

No idea about the court case -- innocent until proven guilty!

But she is thick as two short planks. carcrash interview

Yes she is a deeply unimpressive person - I had the pleasure (!) of meeting her when she tried to be selected as the MP for Lewisham three or four years ago (I'm a Labour Party member; used to live in the constituency so part of the selection panel)

Mediocre people like her, who are not very bright, seem to get on the Labour Party gravy train relying on ther connections to get elected, rather than having actually done anything in their lives or thinking about what the area needs.

I'm pleased to say she got very few votes and the candidate we selected has gone on to be a very good MP. The people of Leicester East on the other hand had her imposed on them in the run up to the 2019 election - hopefully with a byelection coming if she is convicted they will have a better representative soon!

Labor party does have a habit of picking the most unpleasant people to represent them.

Didn't BoJo want someone beaten up? So in YOUR opinion he is also unstable.

I could also name quite a few from the opposition.

She replaced Keith Vaz - not a high bar for her to cover Sad

I think that Boris Johnson is unstable, yes. And also unpleasant, uncaring, dishonest, untrustworthy and a massive hypocrite.

Claudia Webbe has already put her hands up to some pretty awful behaviour, as there are tapes I believe. 'You should be acid'? Dear god.

What a political class we have 'serving' our nation.

Thymeout · 28/09/2021 11:36

How did she get to be an MP? She's part of the old GLC gang, worked for Ken Livingstone. This got her selected as an Islington councillor, Corbyn territory. Elected to the NEC on the Momentum slate. Same sort of trajectory as Dawn Butler - equally dim, tho' hopefully not as malicious.

In those circles, ideological loyalty trumps ability or character.

Much like Boris' cabinet of deplorables.
