To give up on getting my Hermes parcel?

Tracking information says my hermes parcel is at the parcel shop where I ordered it sent to. But I've been there twice and the horrible rude man there keeps telling me it isn't there and to go away. Can't get in touch with Hermes. I bought the item on Vinted and the seller has been lovely - it isn't her fault. So now what happens? Really don't want to go back to the parcel shop for further abuse from this man.

Do I give up? AIBU to put in a complaint with the police (really don't think they would care). What am I meant to do? Item only cost £30 but hard to accept it's just gone!

Can you raise a dispute with Hermes?

If it says the parcel is at the shop then the shop owner has taken it - sounds like he's got it and trying to keep it?! I had this once and after 6 weeks I got the parcel.

Could you try contacting Hermes via social media?

Lavender24 · 27/09/2021 14:30

BTW I had a similar issue and it turned out that Hermes had somehow lost the parcel. I had ordered it through my friend who does Body Shop so she sorted it and BS sent me a new one but I understand your situation is different.

anniegun · 27/09/2021 14:32

It is up to the seller to sort it out. Tell her the parcel has not arrived and ask for a refund if she cant sort it out.

anniegun · 27/09/2021 14:33

Just to add , any seller using Hermes has to accept that they are rubbish

The exact same thing happened to me with a Vinted parcel from Hermes the other day. Luckily I had others to collect and they brought the extra one out too but said they couldn't give it to me because it wasn't on their system. I went back the next day and showed them it had said it had been delivered on the Vinted App. Two of them were trying to get the details on their system but it wasn't on there so I managed to persuade them to let me mark it as delivered on my app and then they let me take it. Maybe that would work? I was also in a dilemma too about what to do if they said no as it's pointless getting it sent back to the seller isn't it

Hereforthedramaz · 27/09/2021 15:27

Have you raised it as an issue through Vinted?

I received an empty package recently and went through Vinted customer service (by selecting "I have an issue") and they were fab and really helpful.

In the end it could be tracked so I received a refund.

Hereforthedramaz · 27/09/2021 15:28

Sorry just to add they spoke to Hermes on my behalf etc to investigate so seemed really on the ball.

Spysolation · 27/09/2021 15:34

Your parcel is probably already being auctioned off at Biddle and Webb auctioneers in Birmingham where the rest of Hermes ‘lost’ parcels end up. The shop man can’t help you because it’s Hermes to blame, they’re robbing, scheming, thieving, lazy, evasive bastards. Your seller can make a claim if insured and she’ll be compensated in many months time. Then she can refund you.
It’s crap.

HarrietsChariot · 27/09/2021 15:37

Claim a refund from the seller. They're the ones who have to claim it back from Hermes. It's the seller's responsibility until it you have received it.

HarrietsChariot · 27/09/2021 15:38

And no, don't call the police Shock - unless you have evidence that the shop has stolen it (as opposed to mislayed it or the computer saying it's been delivered when it hasn't).

@HarrietsChariot

And no, don't call the police Shock - unless you have evidence that the shop has stolen it (as opposed to mislayed it or the computer saying it's been delivered when it hasn't).
Yes admittedly calling the police is probably an overreaction however the man in the shop isn't someone you can have a reasonable conversation with - he just shouts and tells me to get out and then reading the Google reviews for the shop there are loads of 1 star reviews saying similar things, and also quite a few saying that the shop overcharged people and denied it (wish I'd checked these reviews before choosing them as my parcel shop). So while I fully agree Hermes are total charlatans the shop seems to be as well and the only person I actually trust is the individual seller. And if this person is selling stuff (in this case a second hand jacket) as she really needs the money then it's rubbish she's probably going to end up out of pocket. Thanks for all the advice it's very helpful. I have emailed her and am waiting to hear back.
