My dd 6 has a friend in our street but attends a different school, friends mum stopped me in the street just now to inform me her dd tested positive. Kids were out playing together yesterday for a while about a hour, I’m unsure of all new rules do I test my daughter now. I’m on way to collect her from school so il let her teacher know also. I’m a bit shocked at the mum because she’s let her daughter out to play when waiting for test results

Unless your daughters showing symptoms then no need to isolate you could get a pcr test but she might show negative then positive in a few days

Thank you I’m really confused with all the new regulations now. I have a few rapid tests in the house so will test her later and in a few days hopefully she is negative

You don’t need to isolate in your position now.

I think the other girl should have while awaiting pcr results though!

I’m not at all impressed with the other mum, her child did have a cough but most kids now do so I didn’t really think much because I thought if she was positive or waiting to know her mum would of kept her in. Teacher said do a rapid test if negative she’s fine to come in tomorrow so fingers crossed 🤞

No she wouldn't be counted as a close contact as they don't live in the same house and she didn't stay over in your house.

Maybe the child had a PCR as a contact rather than because they had symptoms
