Notification I am a close contact

Got it late last night, we are camping and the kids were asleep. I'm kind of looking for reassurance here, the notification was from 15th sept, DD and I I had symptoms at end of this past week and both had pcrs which were negative.

With that in mind I didn't see a panic to return first thing, we were all outside and well away from others and we just got on as normal in the morning and I made sure I was masked and distancing in toilet block. Kids have gone to playpark and for walk with DH and I am sitting in car as if was at home would be in isolation.
Have booked a pcr test for later today when we get back.
I feel like I'm doing prob best I can in circumstances without cutting short trip and kids wouldn't be isolating at home anyway under current regs but would be interested to know if I am being under/over cautious.
AIBU should we just all have gone straight home?

If notification was from 15 September, it’s already 11 days after and you’ve had PCR tests done. If you are double jabbed and your children are under 18 then you’ve done everything correct. If you are not double jabbed then you would have had to isolate for 10 days from the 15 September, but as you didn’t get the notification till yesterday, it’s way too late to isolate now. Don’t also see the point of you and DD testing again, so soon.

Biker47 · 26/09/2021 12:53

I would have ignored it.

Teacupsandtoast · 26/09/2021 12:53

What Mindy said. I wouldn't bother with another pcr either

SoupDragon · 26/09/2021 13:01

the notification was from 15th sept

If this isn't a typo for 25th I would also ignore it. You've had a PCR which was negative.

Is it from Test and Trace or the app?

Yep definitely 15th and yes notification from the app not a call from PHA or anything. Me and DH both double jabbed, although so is the person who was the close contact-unless app has picked up me in car waiting outside to pick up DD from clubs as close contact of another parked beside us in error. (WFH so relatively easy to identify who I have been in close contact with on most days.)

If you're double vaccinated you wouldn't need to isolate anyway. Your isolation period would be up now too.

dementedpixie · 26/09/2021 13:27

The app isn't legally binding anyway and as it's all anonymous noone would know who has been notified to isolate either

itsgettingwierd · 26/09/2021 13:29

Contacts don't isolate.

I'm surprised you have app on anymore unless you're vulnerable and need to know?

Other than that you can PCR if you want

Notaroadrunner · 26/09/2021 13:34

Hardly much sense in getting a notification 11 days after being in close contact. I'd carry on as normal.

SoupDragon · 26/09/2021 14:09

Yep definitely 15th and yes notification from the app not a call from PHA or anything

Definitely ignore it then - you've already tested negative.

Heartofglass12345 · 26/09/2021 14:50

Was it definitely a notification from the app or a text message? Only asking as we are so busy in wales we're just sending people SMS's if they are double vaccinated.

Imnothereforthedrama · 26/09/2021 15:02

Like others say if the 15th it’s past 10 days .
Don’t worry about it do nothing.

flippityflip · 26/09/2021 16:21

Thanks everyone! I am losing track of the rules and I suppose I only keep the app on so we can be ultra cautious if we were planning to go see someone who is medically vulnerable. I did think it was a bit late to get a notification 10days after the contact so wondered if I had missed something else I was meant to be doing.

Just delete the app.
