AIBU about eggs

DP recently boiled some eggs. Last night, after DP had gone to bed, I was peckish so I took a boiled egg from the holder in the top of the fridge door and cracked it.

It was raw.

So not only was I still hungry, but now I had mess to clean up too.

This morning after DP went to work, I wanted poached eggs for breakfast so I took one from the egg box and cracked it.

IT WAS BOILED. FFS.

WTF are raw eggs doing in the top of the fridge door, and WTF are boiled eggs doing in the egg box?

Raw eggs stay in the egg box. Boiled eggs go in the holder in the top of the door - or if they go back in the egg box they get MARKED AS BOILED. AIBU?

Well, you're quite right of course... but looks like DP made an honest mistake. Very annoying though, I agree.

Spin them on a hard surface to find out which is which.

Even if you thought it was boiled, you would crack it over a plate or bowl? So you could still use it?

OP I'm with you on this (because the 'system' you describe is the one I use 😂).

No need for felt tip or bowls (although if that's the system that works for you, crack on 😂).

Also, if it's causing you to post in the middle of the night (if in the UK), it's clearly a real issue!

Nah, you just roll it on the worktop because you know it's boiled. And then 99.9% of the time you get a tasty snack, or last night you get an unwelcome surprise.

Anyhows, your DP was careless and didn’t use your ‘system’( providing he know about it). That’s really annoying.

I don’t actually keep raw eggs in the fridge- I put the box in a cupboard.

I might start using the egg tray in my fridge now to keep boiled eggs in! It never occurred to me.
