To think if you’re in a self catering place that you need to be out of by 10am …

… if you don’t get out of bed until 9.45, it’s fair to expect the fridge to be empty and most breakfast stuff packed away 🤷🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
AnathemaPulsifer · 25/09/2021 17:25

How do you expect to have done that?

AnathemaPulsifer · 25/09/2021 17:26

WHO!

Crunchymum · 25/09/2021 17:27

@BigSandyBalls2015

I'm assuming a lazy arse DH (or teenager) didn't get up until 15 minutes before you were due to leave and you had washed up and packed away anything left in the fridge?

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 25/09/2021 17:27

Are you the owner or the guest? Confused

takealettermsjones · 25/09/2021 17:28

Yeah if there's nothing left for breakfast by then it's your own fault for not getting up earlier. Of course, provided that you knew about the deadline and you are capable of getting yourself up etc etc.

Shoxfordian · 25/09/2021 17:29

I hope it was a teenager not your partner who did that

MrsTulipTattsyrup · 25/09/2021 17:29

Whichever of your family members this is, is an arse. Of course anyone responsible would have got everything sorted ready to ready to leave by that time. I’d be more annoyed they hadn’t got up to help pack up, personally. And would probably have dragged them out of bed to do their bit well before 9.45.

This is what I assumed and if so yanbu!

XenoBitch · 25/09/2021 17:30

At 9:45, we would be loading the car. Dishes and fridge sorted long before then. Tough if you miss breakfast... you snooze, you lose.

Hellocatshome · 25/09/2021 17:30

Of course they shouldn't but then I wouldn't have allowed them to sleep until 9:45 and not help with the packing/cleaning.

Jellykat · 25/09/2021 17:33

Thats the normal departure time around here, no matter what time you get up!
Bad guest reviews left for any pissing about beyond that..
Those staying have to bear in mind, that with deep cleaning covid guidelines, it takes a lot longer for a changeover these days!

DragonDoor · 25/09/2021 17:34

If everyone knows you are leaving at 10 am then of course it’s expected you would be packed up by 9.45!

Does the person getting up at 9.45am always treat checking out times as a ‘suggestion’, instead of something you stick to? I’ve seen it on here before.

OuiOuiBonjour · 25/09/2021 17:39

It's a man isn't?

JuneOsborne · 25/09/2021 17:40

Too right.

Imnothereforthedrama · 25/09/2021 17:57

By 9.45am I’d be ready to go , no way would I allow someone to just get up , they’d be walking home.

FlyingScott · 25/09/2021 18:03

I can’t imagine how it would be possible for someone to sleep in on packing up day unless they are ill.

OuiOuiBonjour · 25/09/2021 18:07

Would you like to meet my Dad and my Nephew?

To be fair it's the kind of stunt my adult Niece and her mum would pull too. Although illness fakery or a tearful strop about an imagined conflict would play a large part!

Dartfordwarblerautumn · 25/09/2021 18:36

I sadly have an occasional but recurring “nightmare” about being in a self catering house and not being packed/cleaned in time to leave. I am literally running around panicking..although in fairness the holiday home in my dream is full of random clutter that is amazingly dirty or needs to be packed into a car ( think China ornaments- why I needed those on my dream holiday I don’t know). Th owner never turns up though - occasionally they peep through the curtains in a creepy way
Always a bit relief to wake up at home 🤣🤣😳

cleanasawhistle · 25/09/2021 18:44

The only time we ever let my son take a friend on holiday with us.....
Explained the day before that we had to be out by 10am the next morning. So do some packing tonight ,get up early tomorrow breakfast and shower then help load the car.

He would just not get out of bed.
At 9.45am I hear the bath running.
I shout that a shower would have been quicker but just hurry up.

So while the 11 year old was soaking in the bath we packed his bags and loaded everything into the car.
Put the bikes onto the bike rack etc.
He appears and asks where his breakfast is...too late I say.
Where is my stuff,I wanted to pack my own things...
Get my bag out the boot I want some stuff for the drive home...
He was told no we are not taking the bike and bike rack off, this is why you should have got out of bed.

Never again.

Defo male partner or teenager

Fizbosshoes · 25/09/2021 23:45

We have a teenager who dislikes getting out of bed before mid day on holiday or weekends. They were not given the option to stay in bed past about 8 when we needed to be out by 10. We needed to strip the beds anyway.

I run a self catering let and have a similar nightmare where I’m tying to get cleaned for guests and there is tat everywhere! Then I let there lots of guests in and wonder why they aren’t happy having to share with families they don’t know! 😂
