.to just have the rage...no real reason

...is it just because I'm peri-menopausal that EVERYTHING is so bloody irritating! (In about to turn 49 and have just started a conversation with GP about HRT)

Why I have the rage :-

My husband pulled all the clean dry washing out of the tumble dryer but didn't fold the t shirts (as I would have done) and they're all crumpled. I am NOT ironing T shirts.

He didn't empty the sodding dispenser drawer of the washing machine which is always full of sodding water after each user. I do. Every. Sodding. Time. Because I'm the one to clean the mouldy drawer!

Eldest wants to dye her hair right. now. "Do I wash my hair first, what gloves so I use, will you help...." And then gets the hump because I need to eat some lunch.

Youngest wants to tell me, endlessly, about new passion project. Nothing else. Just that one topic. Over & over & over...

I need to think about the rest of the washing, plan the food, shop for food, get a meter reading because the utility company we have been with for 3 weeks went bust, get petrol at some point in the next few days (not even going to bother until middle of a working day - every road around a petrol station with any fuel is blocked)...and I haven't washed my hair for over a week!

I have the rage. I'm not very good at hiding it. Family all now have the hump with me. Arrrrggghhh

Sorry OP but this reminded me of this meme Grin

I hope you get some space from irritants at some point soon Wine

I'm not peri menopausal but I feel like that.

Annoyed my husband had too much to drink and slept through the baby waking up.
My mother in law is driving me mad if the smallest of things.
I'm so so tired.
I feel guilty for not being really nice to people.

GoWalkabout · 25/09/2021 15:22

Ah your kids sound sweet, give them your time. Take it out on your husband instead.

alwayslearning789 · 25/09/2021 15:24

Sometimes, I do wonder if 'the rage' is caused by the fact that everyone does expect you to do everything and you suddenly wake up to this and just can't be asked to be the 'helpful, amenable, flexible one' all the time, at this perimenopausal stage?

Just to say I hear you OP

Make sure you see that Doctor for at least the HRT bit of it. You are not alone...

I get days like this and then I inevitably realise that it's a certain day of my menstrual cycle.

It's amazing how hormones can flick on and off the ability to cope with inane, irritating family life.

I have a child fascinated by military strategy and equipment. I do not share his passion. Gosh the lockdowns were so very, very long...

MrsHaroldRobbins · 25/09/2021 15:36

I feel your pain, OP! Also in peri-menopause and am having a day when everybody and everything is driving me mad with irritation! Just had a whole packet of giant chocolate buttons which has helped slightly 😁

mbosnz · 25/09/2021 15:39

I'd be getting the hump right back at my family! Tell them to sort them bloody selves out, take yourself out for a walk and a coffee wine.

Cupcakeschocolate · 25/09/2021 15:41

It's not hormonal. It's because you take on the lions share of jobs that everyone can equally do themselves. And you are fed up. Rightly so. I am the same and 29. No where near menopause. Currently sorting out and restructuring chores so they are equal. Don't let anyone blame your hormones!
