I was just made redundant... The question is, do I just go back to my old job which I did enjoy but had a terrible pay or wait for the right opportunity (knowing that it might take some time). Because of my work ethic, I can't just go back and work there until I find something better, I think I'd have to commit myself for at least a couple of years.

I also got fired via email which I think is very poor to say the least.

If you were made redundant there has to be some sort of consultation process and notice, did they do this? They cant just e mail you out of the blue!

I was only there for 5 months, so I think I have next to zero rights?!

I don't even know what type of jobs I should apply for either... The ones there are tons of or the ones that only come out every now and then (and although I'm a strong candidate in the past I've failed to get a job offer).

What’s your profession?

idontlikealdi · 25/09/2021 15:41

Both. Old job and look for work.

I'm assuming care or retail?

Terribleluck · 25/09/2021 15:47

I'm very much s mix of things, but I guess over the past few years I've been in Business Development/Account Management.

The problem is that my longest role (7 years) is very hard to define/pigeon hole.

@idontlikealdi what made you think it was care or retail?
