No, nor a rainbow or anything else.

OverByYer · 23/09/2021 07:15

Why have you got a teddy in the window?

PotteringAlong · 23/09/2021 07:15

We did a rainbow as part of a school project thing. It came down when they returned to school in July 2020 (reception so a returning year group)

ProfSprout · 23/09/2021 07:18

We had a rainbow in lockdown 1 but took it down last summer. The moment has passed.

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 23/09/2021 07:19

No?

LutherRalph1 · 23/09/2021 07:22

Teddies seem to be gone from our area, but we loved it when they were up

MorbidMuch · 23/09/2021 07:22

Around my area there are still some lingering, faded rainbows around, but all of the teddy bears are gone. They went by Sept 2020 I think.

LaRobeRouge · 23/09/2021 07:23

Not something anyone did around here.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 23/09/2021 07:23

We used window paint pens to draw a rainbow on the window, cleaned it off at the end of the first lockdown. We drew a halloween and Christmas scene during the relavent seasons , mostly just because we had the pens and we were isolating and something to entertain DD with and to kill sometime.

coodawoodashooda · 23/09/2021 07:25

I took them down about 6 months ago.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/09/2021 07:26

There's a couple of sad looking knitted bears with facemasks on in the window of a house near me, it does look a bit creepy...

gogohm · 23/09/2021 07:41

Yes, but only because we have moved and the teddies we're put out in the new house. There's still a few around

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/09/2021 07:42

the teddy was in the window for the children to look at during lockdown

Notjustanymum · 23/09/2021 09:23

We did draw a rainbow directly onto the window for the first lockdown, but cleared it in July. Lots of houses round here still have children’s pictures of rainbows up, but haven’t noticed any teddies!
I wonder if in years to come these details will be mentioned in the history section of the internet, or if they will be forgotten like the road markings for the cycling in 2012?

Peggytheredhen · 23/09/2021 09:28

We had a rainbow and a Happy Christmas picture up for most of 2020/21. I thought I should probably take the Happy Christmas picture down in July when we had a window surveyor visit. The ageing rainbow lives on.

No teddy. Did I miss something?

Justforphoto · 23/09/2021 09:33

Our Rainbow was made of lego, it didn't last long till she wanted the blocks back to build something else.

Generallystruggling · 23/09/2021 09:36

Everyone had a rainbow around here including us, it was just a fun thing for DC to do during the first lockdown. Took it down July/August last year.

Some people still have the wooden rainbow hearts like this one, DC’s school has one too.

VoyageInTheDark · 23/09/2021 09:45

We had a Teddy and a rainbow. The Teddy didn't last long though. The rainbow faded and eventually got replaced by Halloween and then Christmas pictures.

I remember walking round town in the first lockdown pointing out teddies and rainbows to 2 yr old DD.

VictoriaBun · 23/09/2021 09:48

I crocheted a rainbow to hang in my window and it's still there.

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 23/09/2021 10:16

Not had that round here. What were the teddies for?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 23/09/2021 10:17

Yes, put a rainbow up in lockdown 1 when many people were and feelings were rather different. Like a pp I took it down that summer (2020) - I agree the moment had passed.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 24/09/2021 10:21

The teddies and rainbows were for children to spot on their daily walks. Lots of people did it around here and you could hear small children being excited when they spotted one. I think in some areas they did a different theme each week, Easter eggs at Easter etc. It kept the children of the house busy and entertained those walking past. Obviously unnecessary now but in the middle of the main lockdown was a nice thing to do.

ConsulTremas · 24/09/2021 10:32

I didn’t do either but there’s a house down the road with a Victorian doll in an upstairs window, surveying the street with its cold, dead, murderous eyes.

lanthanum · 24/09/2021 11:04

Took it down this week - it was in the guest room and we just had our first guest!

PumpkinsAndCats · 24/09/2021 11:16

Nope I didn’t do either of them.
