US travel ban lifted - do children need to be vaccinated?

Hi all

Posting here for traffic. I'm planning on booking a US holiday asap now the ban has been lifted. We have family in the US and have been dying to see them for such a long time.

My question is whether anyone has read anything which suggests children will need to be double vaccinated? I have seen many articles which say 'all travellers must be double vaccinated', but not sure whether than applies to children, given the vaccines are only just starting to be rolled out, and the timing of the second dose is still being debated. I'm also not sure who I could even contact for clarification.

My child is 13, if that helps

Thanks for any info!

I travelled with my unvaxxed 9 year old in August to visit family and did not have a problem at all--I simply showed my own proof of vaccination (both of us have UK and US citizenship). It may be different for a teenager in the US, however, maybe try the UK-Yankee message boards.

On the way back, the Virgin Atlantic employee at checkin tried to tell me the hardcopy letter I had from the NHS with my proof of vaccination wasn't sufficient, as it didn't have separate QR codes for both doses, even though it was exactly what the NHS had sent me. Fortunately I had the NHS app and could show my vax status in that as well, but just a heads-up.

oh, yes, I had to have proof of a negative test on the 9yo, we did a video observed PCR test from home.
