To be confused by different rates on fixed rate energy tariff?

I have just been looking at fixed rate deals for energy - the cheapest suggested is Sainaburys Energy

I have entered my estimated usage and looked at the 2 year fix.

The tariff information for electricity says that it is 38.08p per day standing charge and 21.86p per k/w for electricity and 39.82 per day standing charge and 4.45p per k/w for gas.

However, on the personalised quote where they predict the overall annual cost for our household, it says the the price is calculated on different figures of 24.38p standing charge and 20.14p unit rate for electricity and 26.12p standing charge and 4.04 per unit for gas?

I don't understand why there is a difference in the two sets of figures?

Where are the original prices coming from?
Is it the sainsbury's website or a price comparison website?

When have you been looking? I think the price on the Sainsbury's deal has increased since yesterday.

I just checked sainsbury's and I think you may have clicked on the details for the Standard Variable Rates rather than the 2 year fixed deal

Hi - I think I have answered my own question in that the deal I was looking at yesterday had been withdrawn late last night, but that hadn't been updated on part of the website while other parts of it were showing the new rates.

I was too slow and should have switched yesterday!

When I looked the 2year deal is:
Elec - 22.11p unit price and 38.56 standing charge
Gas - 4.42p unit price and 39.82 standing charge

The SVR is:
Elec - 20.39p and 24.87p SC
Gas - 4.009p and 26.12 SC
