Tradie didn’t turn up to quote. Do I chase?

Also, an hour is not that late all things considered It's so difficult to get any tradesmen at all at the moment.

Definitely not. A Trades person or Business are supposed to be dependent on the customer. It shouldn't be the other way round. Plus they've shown they're unreliable, now. If they doesn't want the job stuff them. There will be plenty of other people that do. Mind you that does happen a lot with Trades people (just not turning up). Apparently n one has gone any money and aren't getting any Business yet they're still turning work down.

Nope leave it, if he doesn't turn up for the quote he doesn't deserve the job and he maybe unreliable if you hire him.

Dh had a roofer who had already donee some work, when the roof was still leaking and we asked him to come back and do more work (for which wed pay more!) he replied "who's this?"
If I had my time again I'd train up in a trade.

This. Spot on in my recent experience too. It's like nobody needs the business!

If you didn’t confirm he could think you found someone else, he’s not going to chase you.

Tricky one... I have given a few tradies a second chance before and they have come good. Come second time, did a good job etc... But I have also given some a second chance and they have not turned on the second occasion either. Obviously they didn't get a third chance.

I would send one brief message to chase, if he has otherwise been responsive and you've had a recommendation for him.

If you made arrangements for him to come to quote at a certain time today and he hasn't turned up or contacted you to reschedule then I wouldn't chase. He doesn't want the job and is likely to be unreliable even if you did hire him.

I wouldn’t bother chasing, you’ll be running after him forever. See if you can get someone more reliable.

I wouldn't bother chasing him if I were you, he clearly doesn't want the work. See if you can give him some negative feedback somewhere though so other people can see how he behaves.

It is very much the other way round at the moment. Trades people are booked to the rafters, and so they know that they have everyone by their bollocks. They can get away with inflated rates, being late or not turning up at all. They're only going for the big jobs because that's where the money is. Then the obvious sites like Rated People and TrustATrader are returning 0 responses.

Glad to hear he turned up OP. Honestly having the same issue here, it’s a nightmare to find anyone who has the time so I’d have chased
