Look after young DC when ill.

Currently lay in bed feeling like death with an 8 month old who has been awake since 5 wondering how I'll actually make it until bed time.

Can I just leave him a tin of soup on the cooker Matilda style? Help.

Ask for help. A friend, or neighbour, or family, just till you feel strong enough- even after a three hour nap.

A bouncer, CBeebies, easy food/ formula on hand- no guilt!
Good luck- I had norovirus with a 6 month old- was awful but remember “it passes”.

I do have a husband but he's working away.

I wasn't sure what was the done thing re family. I don't want to make anyone else ill by asking them to have DS Sad

Miss Rachel on YouTube. Your ears will bleed but babies love her.

My first Mother’s Day as a parent was also my birthday

I had d and v all night and ended up sleeping on bathroom floor to be close to toilet.
Baby was up once, emptied both ends, cleaned up and back to bed.

By the am she was fine and I was shaky and still very unwell.

I washed my hands really thoroughly. Made up a tray of food that requires minimal touching from me and filled water bottles.

I shut the doors to confine is to one room and put the projector on
I explained I didn’t feel very well but I would be there is she needed me.

Luckily she played happily, occasionally checking on me or tucking me in!

There was no one to call so had she not been so good about it I don’t know what I would have done

I hope you’re feeling better soon

Oh god you poor thing. I did norovirus in sole charge of a six month old and the only positive thing I can say is it does pass!

It sucks. I remember looking after my DTs when they were babies with D&V and having it myself when I was the sole one in charge.

DH was there of a night but he caught it too and we couldnt get help as didn't want to pass D&V on. All 4 of us with the lurgy...

13/14 years on and I still shudder at how relentless it was. I think if it's not D&V then ask if anyone can help.

Hope your DC feels better soon.

I was a single parent from when my children were very young. No advice I'm afraid other than you have to do what you have to do.
