So This is a video from a guy on Twitter calling out a free game that is being advertised to kids in other games adverts.

I will add a trigger warning for sexual assault, cos though it's a cartoon game it's fucking disturbing.

In it, you play a teen boy who finds his step sister asleep at a party, the options are "do not disturb" or basically "undress without waking".

Now we all know nobody is going to take the first option, it'd be like starting one of those pick your own adventure books with "go home" or "have adventure", no ones going to pick the go home option.

The game then goes on, but if you do happen to wake her, she then acts like she's "up for it".

Having been on the receiving end of this type of assault, this is just fucking awful, but then add in the "step sister" bit, the fact they're teens, and that this is being advertised to fucking children, never mind the fact that this fucking game exists in the first place......

AIBU to think we are fucked as a society when this is what we are peddling as a bit of fucking entertainment??

do not ever let your children play a game which has adverts. every game on the google app store tells you if there's adverts, don't know about iOS.

it's like any online advert, complete game of whack-a-mole with unacceptable content like this.

I've seen a similar game advertised on my WordsWithFriends2 (scrabble)! It's outrageous. Rapey and grim.

It's got nothing to do with Twitter, Twitter is where the person criticising the game has been posted.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear....the video on Twitter is a guy calling out Google for having it at all on it's platform, it does include a brief screenshot video of the start of the game, but it's actually calling it out so I don't want to report the video to Twitter cos that'd be counter productive IYSWIM!

The game is not on Twitter. The game, according to the guy on Twitter, is available on Google Play. There’s no point complaining to Twitter, any more than there is complaining to Mumsnet about a post about Twitter about a game on Google Play.

And, yes, it sounds appalling rape culture violent misogyny.

Just the fact that games even exist that are like this has really made me despair.

Even if it is just clickbait, this has happened to too many women and the fact that even for a minute you can play a bit of a game where you sexually assault your step sister is just absolutely horrific.

I see loads of this sort of thing on Duolingo. Games where you choose what a women should wear to go on a date then the saying 'you look like a slut, you disgust me'. Not as bad as the op but it's still just grim.

And you're right worstdaughter this is why I won't let DS have free games, you never know what the ads are going to be for, and if they are for games like this...?
