My partner of 17 years has just told me I look good for a women of my age and he has recently found a second wind to be attracted to me. Wtf does this mean? How long has he not felt attracted to me and never mentioned it?? For what it’s worth I thought we had a great relationship and this is now making me question everything.

It’s certainly a strange thing to say, what was the context?
Second wind, you’re not a buffet to be reconsidered after a pause

No context just came out of the blue, we were having a nice evening (or so I thought) and he just said it, then said why can’t I just accept a compliment? To me that’s not one.

Does he have form for saying incredibly stupid things?

No it’s not a compliment, it’s quite boorish
