I quite fancy watching that Jennifer Aniston morning series but im too mean to pay for two streaming services. I already get prime because of my amazon free post, photos etc. Any recommendations?

In a word no. There isn't a lot on there.

The Morning Show, Ted Lasso and Trying are excellent though so I would get it just for a month and binge watch those

FrankButchersDickieBow · 18/09/2021 22:17

Definitely watch The Morning Show on some kind of free trial. It is sooooo good.

Issue is, new series has started but its one a week so couldn't get a month's trial for that.

TicTacHoh · 19/09/2021 11:18

I have Apple TV free with Vodafone, not a chance I would pay for it, there’s almost nothing on it

Mombie2021 · 19/09/2021 11:46

There isn’t a lot on it however it does have the mini series of Stepehen Kings book Liseys Story which is bloody amazing.

I don’t pay for it though, it was free for 12 months when I bought my MacBook.

OxanaVorontsova · 19/09/2021 11:52

No

roses2 · 19/09/2021 11:54

I've got a 3 month free trial and there is almost nothing included to watch. Most programs are still a chargeable extra. I don't know how they have any subscribers!

kurtney · 19/09/2021 11:58

I got a years trial with my new phone and I totally forget I have it.

I watched a few things when I first signed in, but there's no way I'll be paying for it when the trial's over unless they up their game. There are so many better streaming services out there.

viques · 19/09/2021 12:21

I got a years free trial, which ends in October so I will never see the end of Good Morning series 2. Which is fine by me as I watched the first episode and wasn’t that impressed, though I did enjoy Series 1.

I wouldn’t bother paying for it, there isn’t much there, and what there is is pretty mundane. I will stick to Netflix and Amazon prime.

MNBookNerd · 19/09/2021 12:55

100% agree with @Demelza82 I got a 12 month sub with my ipad and can't see me renewing as there's just not enough on there to justify the cost.

MatildaIThink · 19/09/2021 12:57

No, not at all. We got a free three month trial and there is hardly anything on there worth watching and certainly not worth paying for.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 19/09/2021 12:59

No.

Almost nothing on and most things have an additional charge.

icedcoffees · 19/09/2021 13:02

Nope, it's a total waste of money.

DressBitch · 19/09/2021 13:04

I'm glad everyone is saying it's a bit rubbish. I got it free and thought I must be looking in the wrong place as there was hardly anything on there that you didn't need to pay extra for!

I do want to try The Morning Show and the Stephen King series, though.

IsadoraQuagmire · 19/09/2021 13:05

No! On a free trial with my new Macbook, and there's basically nothing on it that you don't have to pay extra for!

Mombie2021 · 19/09/2021 13:32

@DressBitch do watch it, it’s incredible. Clive Owens and Julianne Moore play the characters exactly how I imagined them, which is rare for a King adaptation!

JacquelineCarlyle · 19/09/2021 13:53

What's the Stephen King series called?

I agree with the others - Apple TV really isn't worth it although Ted Lasso and Trying are phenomenal and The Morning Show was also excellent so looking forward to season 2.

Knittingupastorm · 19/09/2021 14:02

I got a year free with a new phone but I never watch anything on it. Whenever I’ve looked there doesn’t seem to be much content, and it’s padded with stuff from iPlayer and all4 which you can watch through the Apple TV app, but it’s not stuff you can’t get elsewhere.

Mombie2021 · 19/09/2021 14:27

Liseys Story

seaandsandcastles · 19/09/2021 14:30

Apple+ is awful. Hardly anything on it and what’s on it you’ve probably never heard of.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 19/09/2021 14:34

I wouldn't pay any extra for it, no. There are loads of free trials around - check if you get a few months with a Barclaycard, or your phone or broadband contract. Just set a calendar reminder to cancel the trial before you are charged.

Conversely, I'm currently on a free trial of Apple News+ with my Barclaycard and I might keep that on once the trial ends. It's cheaper than my separate digital subscription to the Times used to be and also has quite a few magazines which I like.

twelvefiftynine · 19/09/2021 14:41

I'm glad I saw this thread. I thought I was going bonkers. Going around in circles trying to find something to watch. There's nothing on it!

TheWinterSmoulder · 19/09/2021 15:10

Also Defending Jacob. That was really good. Michelle Dockrey was excellent in it as was Chris Evans, much to my surprise.

kikisparks · 19/09/2021 15:27

I’ve enjoyed mosy of what I’ve watched- For All Mankind, Schmigadoon, The Morning Show, Home Before Dark, Defending Jacob and the film the Banker. It doesn’t have much but what it does have is pretty high quality and highly rated. The quantity though is far less than Netflix and if I was to choose between them I’d choose Netflix.

WaterAndRichTea · 19/09/2021 15:28

Apple tv is rubbish in my opinion

greenalltheway · 19/09/2021 15:29

I was about to say Defending Jacob! So so good

Things absolutely worth watching:

Defending Jacob
Ted Lasso (absolutely bloody brilliant)
The morning show
See
Home before dark (aimed at tweens id say but I enjoyed it)
Trying (excellent)
Calls (this is very cleverly done)

Like others, I had 12 months free with my new phone and was about to cancel when I got sucked into ted lasso right before season 2 was due to start. Think I'll finish that and the morning show and cancel until the next seasons!
