School run delivery!

Has anyone else noticed this, so I was home today so I planned a delivery, I’ve been in all day, I’m due to pick up my children from school very soon and my delivery is due exactly at the same time 😕 I deliberately paid more for next day delivery which seems I’m going to miss it now! What is with this it always seems to be the case my order is due just as I need to leave for the school run?! Anyone else get this or is it just me?! Seems to be most times I order something online

I think this is one where it is likely to be just you, because your house is always in the same place!

The major couriers have pretty much set routes that they complete each day, so the time might vary a bit based on how many orders people in your area have made, but it's likely to be always the same time of day. And the different companies' warehouses tend to be clustered in the same industrial areas, so if you're really unlucky then all the couriers will be doing basically the same route.

Oh no that will be it then! It must be, ended up being late 😣

Late for the school run due to waiting for a delivery?

I would have just left on time and missed the delivery.

This happens to me alllll the time when I order next day delivery cause I know I'll be in apart from school run.
Estimated delivery 14:50 - 15:10 !!

The small 20mins when I'll be out Angry

PumpkinKlNG · 17/09/2021 17:15

Yep exactly it was delivered at 3.15 😬 like I’ve not been in all day and will be in all day by the time I get back!

This always happens to me. Can guarantee no matter who the delivery company is their slot will be the exact hour I’m out for the school run. So annoying!

PumpkinKlNG · 17/09/2021 17:22

It meant having to run all the way there 🥵

Well I hope none of you are expecting a passport, we had a message that it was coming Special Delivery on Monday this week. Rearranged schedule. Then we got another message saying Tuesday so we rearranged our Tuesday schedule so someone could be in. Message on Tuesday afternoon that it would be delivered Wednesday. This alongside dire warnings that the passport would be destroyed in the event of several non deliveries. Anyway I went on the website and requested a named day next week (after rearranging things yet again) Let’s hope it’s fourth time lucky.

I’ve had this with dpd twice they tried at 8:40am then they moved me to 3:15pm then they sent it back to the shop because I’d missed it three times.

Never let you move the slot either.

LouLou our passport was just shoved through the letter box. We were in, but they didnt even ring the bell.

My medical delivery scheduled for between 5&9pm this evening because I knew I would be here, turned up at 3pm lucky I was literally just leaving the house when he turned up or I would have been fuming.
Very annoying because only I can sign for it and they only deliver to my area on Fridays even if they fuck it up, if I don't get it I miss out on my meds for a week ☹️
It's a new delivery company apparently so far, not impressed.

Know what you mean. I had Asda del today between 11 and 12. Neighbours good we take in each others if they out/working
