I'm so sick of people banging on about my weight. I'm three stone overweight so not exactly an elephant but not thin either, my family, my patients my colleagues. Jeez what am I supposed to say in return? " wow thanks for pointing it out I had NO idea I ws overweight. Id never have known if you hadn't told me"
I've been struggling with my weight since the menopause and on constant diets. Why can't people mind their own goddammit business?

I think you'd be very justified in saying this, in tones of withering sarcasm. Unless you've asked for their opinion, they shouldn't be commenting on your weight.

That sounds awful. Sorry you’re having to endure that. Flowers

I would only have a conversation about weight with a very close friend or one of my sisters if I was worried about them, but that would be a one and done sensitively. What’s happens to you is totally rubbish.

girlmom21 · 17/09/2021 07:44

What do all of those people say about your weight?
IME anyone with an ounce of decorum doesn't comment on another persons weight. Is it really that regular an occurrence?

noworklifebalance · 17/09/2021 07:48

I understand how family/friends may comment - not that it is right or helpful for them to.

But why/how do patients end up commenting on your weight?

lljkk · 17/09/2021 10:46

Are you giving advice about weight loss yourself, OP?

I knew someone (X) on MN, we had mutual friends offline.

On MN, X said how deplorable it was that people always assumed she wanted her next baby to be a girl.

Mutual friends said that X never stopped talking about what it would be like to have a baby girl after a string of boys, how different girls were. Mentioned in a recurring obsessive way.

sometimes people don't know how they come across.

Nowomenaroundeh · 17/09/2021 11:17

This is very strange. What do they say?

Bluntness100 · 17/09/2021 11:21

Are you going on about it youtself or dieting? It’s really odd for everyone to be banging on constantly about yout weight,

jeffersonsam · 17/09/2021 11:25

Don't worry about others comment, dont lose your hope , just follow what your mind is said. Do some simple workouts and follow strict food diet, surely you will get good body shape.
