If you work in higher education, what do you do and is it enjoyable? I ask because I have worked in university administration roles for 4 years and am feeling so worn out and frazzled all the time, the work load is unmanageable. I don't know if my university is standard and whether I should seek employment outside of higher education

Wow, that's some holidays, I get 27 plus bank holidays.

Yup, I’m in admissions. Agree with pp about being understaffed, that’s a major problem for us, especially during peak times. However we do get paid overtime and have an amazing pension and annual leave (30 days plus bank hols and 10 days at Xmas)

Used to, ended up off sick with work-related stress and left shortly afterwards. My current job has been directly involved with the pandemic response for the last 20 months and is still less stressful that HE was!

Would not go back.
