Had a nasty passive aggressive senior manager email me today about a mistake they made but blaming me where I had to do one of those 'oh sorry, grovel grovel' emails back as I can't just say FUCK OFF YOU PETTY FUCKWIT IT WAS YOUR FAULT AND EVERYONE HATES YOU AS YOU'RE LAZY AND INCOMPETENT

If it was their mistake, why do you have to apologise for it?

In future, document everything and reconfirm her instructions to you in email before carrying them out.

Then, if she does this again, email very politely to say 'I understood from the attached email that you wanted me to do [X]. I see you now want me to do [Y] so I'll complete this by [deadline].

I wouldn’t be apologising for someone else’s mistake.

Start with, "I'm sorry that it is necessary for me to write this email."
