Midwife training in late 30's

Have I left it too late? Has anyone done this? Not sure if I'm just too old

Me! Qualified at 38. Was a slog, difficult with childcare. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have really good support network. Try working as an HCA for a bit and see if you like it as the reality of shift work and high pressure hospital environment isn’t for everyone. Training was hard, very hard. I’m still paying off my debt (not student loan but general debt). I love my job though.
