I am all for automation to cut time but I have just received a notification on the app from my child's school to say my child has bumped their head.

Is this normal? Would you not expect a call about this or just a note that I get at the end of the day?

If I'm not expected to pick her up now I will just worry until 5pm. Or am I overreacting?

The problem with notes is they can get forgotten. I once got a phone call 10 minutes after school to say they had forgotten the bumped head note... but the phone call was worrying as they usually call for emergencies and the bus hadn't reached our street yet.

Similarly people get annoyed at non emergency phone calls at work etc.

Email sounds quite efficient overall.
