Ordered what I thought was a food processor
. . The thing i really really need one for is

  1. Combining DRY ingredients . I make a lot of vegi things like falafals..
In the thing i bought they just go round and round! Id have to add water to make it work .. and i need dry ingredients to blend
  1. It can chop things like carrots.
The most important is point number one and that it is easy to clean . Thanks. So much !( have tried to use a smoothie.maker, a stick.thing and a kenwood mini processor( delia cheat) .

I just have a Kenwood one. They're all easy to clean, aren't they, put half a cup of sopay water in the bowl, put the lid on and switch on. Food processors clean themselves much easier than stick blenders etc.

Do you need a food mixer rather than a processor? What sort of dry ingredients are you wanting to combine?

I have a Kenwood Chef Titanium, its very good, solid, have had it around 12 years, and it's as good as new.

That is the problem ! 8 dont kmow what the tool is called that 8 need. Basically i need to make lots n lots of veg burgers.. and falafal
So .. combining
Chick pea
Onion
Spices
In a fine way. So that the chick peas and stuff are combined. The thing i have does not manage dry ingredients and i will just wear the motor out trying as the chickpeas just.go round.and round

I successfully make veggie burgers and falafels in a Magimix food processor.

Having read this thread I now feel like an idiot for not realising I could just put soapy water in and run it to clean it though.

Badgerbonce · 15/09/2021 12:34

Thanks which one please

Can I just check - you have already pre-cooked the chickpeas haven't you? The dry, hard bullets you get in the bag won't grind down without being cooked.

As for what type, I have a Kenwood FDM790 and love it. The bowl, jug and blades all pop into the dishwasher.

I make falafel in a food processor (soaked but uncooked chickpeas). I have a KitchenAid, brilliant build quality and heavy duty dual motor but it's awful to clean, there are some parts which get water into them and can't be dried, it's massively over engineered.

My 30 year old Braun multipractic packed up last year but it was brilliant to use and very easy to clean. You can get an updated version in some places. I would keep it simple with something like a Kenwood, close power and durability over gimmicks. The worst parts for cleaning are over engineered feed tubes.

Badgerbonce · 15/09/2021 19:23

Yes , just tinned chick.peas ..

I've got a Kitchen Aid, there isn't anything I've attempted in it that hasn't worked.

It's genius at pastry and crumble toppings - and has lots of attachments for making coleslaw etc. And it all just goes in the dishwasher.
