Or whether they have returned to "normality"?

In our primary school the children with packed lunches still eat in the classroom. ‘School dinners’ are back to eating in the dining hall.

fixyourgardengate · 14/09/2021 17:12

Classrooms still, with staggered start and finish times so that breaks are still with their year groups (the school has 2 very small playgrounds with different equipment so they also rotate which one is used. I think this is actually a huge benefit in terms of space to play and for the staff keeping an eye on them)

GreenWheat · 14/09/2021 17:12

Fully back to normal here. It's a small school though.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 14/09/2021 17:13

They never ate in the classroom. Lunch break is no longer staggered though.

ChimChimeny · 14/09/2021 17:13

Back in the hall here

Tinkerbellfluffyboots79 · 14/09/2021 17:14

Ours are back to dining hall now, son isn’t happy about it it’s quite full on for him I think he preferred classroom lunch

niceupthedanceagain · 14/09/2021 17:19

Back in the hall

SpringRainbow · 14/09/2021 17:23

Everyone is back in the hall eating together like they were before Covid.

From the child’s perspective everything is back to normal.

Us grown ups are still not allowed inside the school building unless invited (which you rarely ever are unless there is something wrong).

There will be virtual parents evenings, events will be recorded/ photos taken, contact with teachers is by phone/ in playground.

FedNlanders · 14/09/2021 17:28

Ours are still in classroom

HungryHippo11 · 14/09/2021 17:30

In the hall. 90 year R kids together, I assume the other year groups are the same.

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 14/09/2021 17:33

We never ate in the classroom. Lunch was much much longer last year so that eat year group ate and played separately (children sat on ever other seat in the hall so they weren't directly opposite or next to anyone). Now we're back to our usual mode of operation which is two year groups eating together in the hall (with a class of packed lunches in each year group eating in a classroom because of space/noise).

CaptainMarvelous · 14/09/2021 17:35

In the hall with everyone else. Only Covid measure kept in place is virtual assembly.

elliejjtiny · 14/09/2021 17:35

Back in the hall

Lindy2 · 14/09/2021 17:39

All back in the dining hall together.

The first Covid positive cases started at the end of last week.....

samwitwicky · 14/09/2021 17:40

Everyone back to eating lunch in the school hall, both packed lunches and school dinners

Bagelsandbrie · 14/09/2021 17:40

Classroom here. They’re not using the dining hall at all.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 14/09/2021 17:41

They returned to normality before they broke up.

ChickenSandwichYum · 14/09/2021 17:41

Eating in the hall, but still one year group at a time. But it's much more normal than last year when it was each class in their own classroom.

They're hoping after half term to go back to a key stage at a time in the hall (they never had the whole school in the hall at once for lunch).

bathorshower · 14/09/2021 17:41

In the dining hall plus assembly hall, with only one year group in each at a time.

Much better for DD, as it means that she can say no to beans so they don't 'contaminate' the rest of the meal....

thinkbiglittleone · 14/09/2021 17:42

In the dining hall here.

MajorCarolDanvers · 14/09/2021 17:43

Mine have never eaten in the classroom.

Primary school normalish- parents still banned and no after school clubs, concerts etc.

Secondary school still has masks and restrictions on lots of subjects so far from normal.

TheGrumpyGoat · 14/09/2021 17:43

Back in the hall but slightly staggered (reception first, KS1 second and KS2 third) as they’re in bubbles.

hangryeyes · 14/09/2021 19:18

It is still in the classroom here and dinners are only on one day a week also in classroom, packed lunches the rest of the time (except for FSM who get a dinner everyday)
