We have fences around the whole of our back garden. The fence at the end belongs to neighbours whose property runs at a right angle to ours. Left boundary fence is ours, right boundary fence is neighbour's
All fences are topped with trellis.
We are painting our side of the fence (bottom of garden people have done theirs and some paint has run through).
Left hand neighbour has asked if we can not paint trellis as they don't want "glimpses" of our fence colour.
FWIW our fence is being painted dark brown which is the colour of all other visible fences in the neighborhood.

As it is our fence and trellis AIBU to just say that I will be painting it to match the rest and will try not to get too much through the gaps?

It’s your fence. You can do what you want with it.

Are they bothered by the drips that might run through on their side?
Offer to give them a pot of stain so they can paint it and make it look neater?

Not exactly. They are bothered that through the trellis they might be able to see "weird angles" of our fence colour on the other side of the trellis.

Crazy fuckers. Ignore and paint your trellis. I don’t know how some people get through the day. 🙄
