To thank you all for the superking bed thread...

There was a thread some moons ago about someone and their husband arguing over whether or not to get a Superking bed and that the husband didn't think it was much difference.

Everyone on the thread was up in arms saying a superking was the best thing they'd ever done... omg you were right!! We finally got set up with a superking bed and goodness me it's the best thing since sliced bread!!

Husband feels miles away and there's no tangled limbs or sweaty appendages and stinky breath.

Not seen the other thread, but I wholeheartedly concur! We got a super king a year ago and was the best thing we ever did!! Soo much room!!

I am single. But yeah I have a superking bed just for myself. That and a proper mattress is probably the best return on money I have ever spent when it comes to the quality of life.

DP and I have a double bed each, right next to each other. Even better! And this weekend we went away and got an air BnB with two rooms - king bed in each. That’s the future right there

#TheHouseIsOnFire Are your double beds connected? I would like to connect two single beds to create width but not length (room too small to accommodate king length) but don't know if it is possible to create a seamless joint that would be comfortable?

Congrats OP! I’m obsessed with our super king bed. If we stay with friends/family and have to share something smaller I become enraged with DH for existing

Best thing we ever bought for our super king bed frame was a latex mattress. Just the best sleep ever.

We are just debating between a king and a super king too. Having just stayed at a hotel with a super king it was bliss! Husband, 2 kids and me and still room for more!

I'm sure a superking bed is Fab.

Nowhere near as good as separate bedrooms though. Now THAT is utter bliss.......

Best way to do this is to get a bit of fairly thick foam cut to the measurements (like those foam mattress toppers) 😁 and just pop that ontop of the mattresses and whack a fitted sheet on top

@Nifedipine we have the same space problem and have just bought two singles. I’m going to buy a bed bridge to fill the gap.

Astounded by how big some of your bedrooms must be. If we had a six foot wide bed we couldn't fit it and ourselves walking in...

We have an American king size bed which is 6ft 4 inches wide but I’m eyeing up an Alaskan king which is 9ft wide. Our bedroom is huge so there would still be room enough to hold a party even with that bed.

I’ve relegated myself to the sofa from my very comfy but just a king sized bed, due to a snoring walrus. And now I can’t sleep.

A super king in a bedroom all to myself is my idea of heaven right now.

I'm the same, my bedrooms are tiny! But I would happily just have a bed in my room; with maybe just enough room so that I can launch myself into it from the door.

@Disneyvillain Will look up bed bridge, would love to know how you get on with your new setup. I'm also thinking if it may be a good idea to get two single ottomans that open upwards, as there won't be much space to get around the bed to reach stuff stored under the bed.
