To be concerned about this? (trigger: medical related)

I'm really worried about my Mum. She's in her early 60s and has had chronic hoarseness now for about two months. She had a Nasolaryngoscopy (camera test to look at the larynx), which showed bruised vocal cords and has had a blood test , which she hasn't got the results of yet. She has been referred for an urgent chest X-ray but her 2 week referral is taking longer than a fortnight.

The reason I'm particularly worried is that she has had purple-tinged lips on and off now for about 18 months. I've expressed several times that I'm worried that she might have lung cancer or secondary lung cancer, particularly after she had a low oxygen sats reading when otherwise healthy last summer. I'm really scared that she might have cancer.

AIBU to be so worried?

Also just wondering- has anyone had the same symptoms and been okay?

What was her oxygen reading ? Could you take her to A&E to be seen sooner? Has she lost any weight ?

It was 95/6 I think, but this was a year ago. She's not lost any weight.

I don't think she needs A&E but we're due to go on a joint holiday next weekend and I'm worried that the chest X-ray won't be done before that.
