Decorating

How long did it take you to fully decorate your house ?

I'm 3yrs in my home and I'm still decorating. Not one room is fully done just a house full of half finished rooms. This is down to -

  1. Not having enough time to get things done due to work, kids, life etc.
  2. Not knowing what I actually want to do with certain rooms. Do I want grey or navy? Wall paper or paint? Etc. I'm just so damn indecisive.
  3. Money. Even if I know what I want I couldn't afford to do the whole house in one go.

Anyone else take years to get their house finished?

21 years. It's like painting the Forth rail bridge.

Ten years so far. Still got to put in a bath panel, retile the downstairs loo, finish the corridor upstairs.
Then I guess I'll start again. Grin

Decorating is never really finished; either things begin to look a bit tatty, or your tastes change. We've only been here 40 years but I'll let you know when we're done.

6 years in our house, and only 3 out of 7 rooms are decorated properly. 😬

We've been in our house 20 years and it still isn't finished. I got quite a bit done during lockdown last year, but the way it's going I'll be retired before I finish it.
