Sharing positive covid test results

I'm really cross about this, aibu?

We have dss eow, and he was with us as usual from Fri to Sun last weekend.

Tuesday his mum tells us he's tested positive for covid so we need pcr tests which we've all done and still waiting for results.

All members of dss household tested positive for covid before Friday when my dp collected him. Technically he is just a close contact as of Friday, so didn't need to isolate but I 100% think dss's mum should have told us she and her other son had covid, and we could've taken more precautions.

The relationship between dp and his ex is awful admittedly, but surely you put everyone's health and well being above all that?

She basically doesn't care if her son kills his dad and family

Wole · 10/09/2021 19:33

Not really in DSS's best interest

BananaMilkshakeWithCream · 10/09/2021 20:15

It’s the sort of thing my husband’s ex does. It’s very annoying.

Buntings90 · 10/09/2021 20:25

It's just ridiculous, it's common sense! Dp's ex doesn't know if we're double jabbed, she doesn't know if my children have any vulnerabilities. I'm so angry.

I would tell people if I was/my children were close contacts of someone who has tested positive, but legally your DSS has done nothing wrong.

Surely your children are at risk at school? They could easily spend all day at school next to someone who has a parent at home with Covid, that's the joy of the no isolation rule now Sad

Sorry, your DSS's mum

Yes you're absolutely right, it's the new rules that dictate that close contacts don't need to isolate, and yes I appreciate what you're saying that kids at school could be exposed without us knowing.
