I need to know I’m not alone that everyone has that one parent at school who is for lack of a better word a complete dick lol. Last year one mum tried to get the parents to band together to stop wearing masks at the school gates because we stood outside, no one took her on so she said her ds who’s asd was scared of the masks but when she took him to the shop or somewhere else was perfectly fine with people wearing them. That didn’t go well for her. Well now she’s starting on class bubbles, last year bubbles where smaller and she complained about that and now there bigger she’s saying her son is scared of catching Covid and wants them smaller but her kids fine mixing in the street and she tried to hand out party invitations today to other bloody classes lol.
Her little boys lovey btw really friendly little boy very social but she tells people he’s shy and doesn’t like playing in the street when really he’s out all the time he’s a social butterfly my dd absolutely loves him.
Please tell me you all also know a parent like this so I know I’m not alone lol

There are more than one "crusader" mum at my DC's school, they always manage to find something to start a petition about.

Anonmummyoftwo · 09/09/2021 17:10

Thank god I’m not alone lol I’m sure there’s others at the school but she’s definitely the main one at the moment

Having a kid with autism doesn't prevent people from being a dick.

I work in a school. We have at least 20 of those parents.

Alloftheboys · 09/09/2021 17:26

There’s plenty of dick parents at school.
The dad who parks where he likes while leaving a 2ish year old alone in the car. She’s not strapped in the car seat so she’s leaping all over the place. Not sure if he locks the doors or not. He also caused a car accident.

The ones that park on the double yellows and also in front of the school gates.

The CF mum who is always late and seems surprised that school finishes at the same time each day. She also asks anyone and everyone to pick up the kids for her.
I feel slightly better now 😃

Oh we had the mother of all mothers in our year group. It became a bit of a thing where even the DH’s where asking wtf had she done today. If the WhatsApp was pinging it would be her and some other weird and stupid thing.

OffCycling · 09/09/2021 17:54

My guess is that if her DS has ASD then mum is likely to be on the spectrum too (even if she may not realise it yet). From what you've said, it sounds as if she is trying to manage her own anxieties in the way she knows how or thinks best. This seems to be her current special interest and will likely last until she finds a new one to move onto.

This mum started a messenger group last year over the mask drama I blocked her on all socials that day lol
