On this day last year I managed to get my BMI at under 30 for the first time in ages. I got down from a BMI of 36 on Whitsun Bank Holiday 2020 to 29.8 on 9/9/20
I knew I still had a fair bit to go on the dieting front but after how I’d felt 3 months earlier this felt like a massive achievement.
I’m sure many MNers have been in this situation.
I wanted to put this out there to give people encouragement as breaking a binge or overeating cycle is very hard - my mental health was in smithereens when I was caught up I it

Well done! I'm almost at the same point! I intend, however, to stop dieting for a while and enjoy being 'merely' overweight. When I've got the hang of maintenance, I will consider whether I want to lose an additional stone or so.

Congratulations! How did you do it?

MusicTeacherSussex · 09/09/2021 15:48

Well done, what a fantastic thing you have achieved! StarStarStarStarStar

It's hard work and you did it! X

Thank you !! Congratulations on your weight loss to date !
I was so desperate to lose weight that in the first week I restricted myself to 800/cals a day and did two half hour gym sessions a day! As my weight dropped I didn’t keep this level of exercise up but still did weights /cardio at least 3 times a week. I did sometimes go over 800 cals a day but it was never over 1200 cals day on average.
I think your idea of weight maintenance sounds really sensible

Thanks MusicTeacherSussex it was hard work at the time - the hardest part seemed to be ‘staying in the moment’!
