To think having an Instagram account for the cat is insane

I work with a great team and one of the ladies I work with has a new cat

I'd like to note afew of us have cats

So tonight on the group what's app she asked us all to follow her cat on Instagram

Is this really a thing sounds mad to me 🤣

I don’t do IG but yes it’s a thing It’s silly but it’s fun

I set up an Instagram account for my dogs during lockdown as a bit of a joke with some colleagues who said they liked pictures of dogs but didn’t want to clog up the work whatsapp group

I put up a couple of pics of them per week, doing their dog thing

They’ve now got 3.5k followers, without me doing much more than putting a few hashtags on the posts

I’m not saying it’s not insane, but people seem to go mad for pet accounts.!

I got bored with it pretty quickly so the account has been dormant for a while but I can’t quite bring myself to delete it..!

I’m sure there’s loads of animals and babies and things with accounts. I was watching something on tv the other day where someone’s flat had its own social media account. Some people just really like the camera feature on their phone. Personally I wouldn’t be all that interested in someone’s cat, but if she’s happy and the cat is treated well then live and let live I guess!

Ds1 and his fiancée have an Instagram account for their dogs - it is fun and entertaining, and we like seeing the pictures they put up.

But if you aren’t interested in the people or the animals, I guess it wouldn't be interesting at all.

I follow a few animals on insta. I wouldn’t make one for my own pet because I can’t be arsed tbh but I do love seeing cute animals so enjoy other people’s posts

I have a dog Instagram for my girl buy its just a bit of fun. It isn't a secret but i'd be embarrassed to ask friends to follow it lol

I follow lots of dogs on Twitter. My dogs have hundreds of followers. I don’t post photos of my kids online, just my dogs. 🤣

My dog has one and he has way more followers than me 🤣 I started him one after realising that I got more joy from seeing peoples dogs than I do some of the other shit people post.

I'd love to make one for my cats but I usually miss all their Instagramable moments. It'd end up being things like here's dcat1 sitting on the bathroom floor after using the toilet, here's dcat4 lying down after parkouring through the living room. It would just be pictures after the event and not the event itself.

I followed my friend's cat accounts to be supportive but immediately muted them both 🤣
