Pete Burns. Great voice, beautiful. Have only just been listening to tracks other Spin Me. He was a year older than me but not on my radar in the 80s - shame !

Freddie Mercury, I was 10 when he passed. It's just devastating that I was never able to see him perform live, the good do truly die young.

Snooks1971 · 08/09/2021 22:48

Oh god yes re Freddie! I never understood why my Dad raved about him. I get it now though, too late.

Pete burns was fairly recently, surely?
For me it's Kurt cobain.

PurpleFlower1983 · 08/09/2021 22:52

Definitely Freddie. And Amy Winehouse will be the one for the future.

BlueBellsArePretty · 08/09/2021 23:35

Jeff Buckley, didn't know of him until I met Dh years after his death.

CiaoForNiao · 08/09/2021 23:40

Definitely Freddie Mercury. I hust about remember being told he died and thinking "who cares. I don't know who he is". I was 7.

And Roald Dahl. I always think of him as being pre my lifetime but actually very very vaguely remember hearing about his death too and not really realising exactly what that meant.

Richey Edwards, Manic Street Preachers.

Karen Carpenter. I’ve never heard a voice like hers.
