Send DD in to school?

Dd has her first full day at school tomorrow but ds has been sent home from nursery today due to a cough.
He's had a cold since last week, also has 3 teeth coming in so does tend to get a bit under the weather. We lateral flowed him last week, it was negative. Me and dp also lateral flowed on Sunday night, all negative.
He's got no temp but does have a cough/snotty nose. We've took him for a pcr today and he won't be going back to nursery until either negative result (which I think he'll have) or obviously until he's cleared to.
My question is, do I send dd in to school or keep her off until ds is cleared?
If it was still nursery I'd just keep her off too but not sure about the rules regarding school/suspected covid in household, etc.

Would be sad to have to keep her off because she's so looking forward to it but obviously, health comes first. Thanks in advance!

Under 18s don’t need to self isolate if they don’t have sympathy

Hidehi4 · 07/09/2021 19:22

Symptoms not sympathy 🤣

foreverchangingmyname · 07/09/2021 19:24

@Hidehi4 I mean, she definitely has no sympathy 😂

Yeah I'd still send her!

If under 18s don't need to isolate without symptoms does that mean if ds tests positive that dd doesn't have to? I'm so confused

Are you England? If so, you need to send her in. Teacher here just been briefed on new guidance! Basically test and trace is now running this, not schools. Unless T&T say so, everyone is in (except positive cases). T&T will tell you what to do if she tests positive. The school really should have sent some info out to parents though.

@User65412 ahh thank you! Yes we're in England. Just when I think I've got a handle on the rules they change again. The school haven't been great with communication tbh. They told me today I had a 15 minute meeting last week that I didn't show up for but never sent me any info about it. Then went "oh yeah, some of the texts didn't send". Oh okay, I'll use my psychic powers next time 🙃

We had a similar situation last week but DD was sent home from school to test but we still kept Ds in nursery. I think if you take them out when a sibling is tested they'll be out all year!

@foreverchangingmynameno no doubt they'll change again soon 🙃
