Messed up with dates, would you eat this?

Diced pork, dated 06/09, I thought today was 06/09!
Cooked since 9am in slow cooker until 7pm with a bbq sauce for pulled pork wraps?
It looked nice and pink and there was no smell or anything odd this morning when I opened it to indicate anything was off.
Would you eat it?

Yes.

BusterGonad · 07/09/2021 17:02

Definitely

100% yes

Ughmaybenot · 07/09/2021 17:02

Yea, it’ll be grand.

Justmuddlingalong · 07/09/2021 17:02

No. I'm fussy with the dates of pork.

balzamico · 07/09/2021 17:03

Yes, it smelled ok, was only a few hours out and has been very well cooked

Vitcserum · 07/09/2021 17:04

It smells gorgeous now… only niggling doubt is due to date but I do have Crohn’s disease (bowel disease) but it looked perfect this morning.

Absolutely fine in my book.

loopylindi · 07/09/2021 17:05

yes. it'll be fine.

Dixiechickonhols · 07/09/2021 17:08

Yes. It smelled and looked fine. If it was from butcher’s there would be no date.

BarbaraofSeville · 07/09/2021 17:08

Yes of course. If it looked OK and smelled OK and has been in the fridge, then it was OK.

Hankunamatata · 07/09/2021 17:10

Yes. You cooked it this morning so it was like only 6 hours past expiry

hellcatspangle · 07/09/2021 17:10

Yes, I go by look and smell.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 07/09/2021 17:12

Yes

Funnylittlefloozie · 07/09/2021 17:16

Definitely. If you don't fancy it, give me a shout and I'll come and eat it for you. Bbq pulled pork wraps, mmm!

Cantbebotheredwithausername · 07/09/2021 17:32

Yes, absolutely. Without a second thought.

But I rarely get sick, I have a kick-ass immune system, and I don't have Crohns ord any other bowel diseases, as you mentioned. So I might not be the best person to ask, as I'm rarely afraid of infections, food-borne or otherwise.

AnyOldPrion · 07/09/2021 17:43

My understanding is that “use-by” dates usually build in some flexibility as manufacturers are meant to assume the general public are likely to do daft things, like leaving their products in a warm car for a few hours. If it looked and smelled fine and was only one day past its date, I’d certainly go for it.

SolitaryTree · 07/09/2021 17:45

So long as it looked and smelled ok I’d eat it 😋

Confusedandshaken · 07/09/2021 17:48

Of course. The pork doesn't have a stop watch or magical timer making it it ok to cook at 11.55pm last night and harmful 9 hours later.

CoRhona · 07/09/2021 17:53

One day past and no smell? Definitely ok.

DramaAlpaca · 07/09/2021 17:54

Yes

icedcoffees · 07/09/2021 18:00

You shouldn't eat it.

Send it my way and I'll dispose of it Grin

EarthSun · 07/09/2021 18:10

If other looked fine, smelt fine, it will be fine. It's not like Cinderella's pumpkin Smile

Nixandwotsit · 07/09/2021 18:12

Yes

Munchyseeds · 07/09/2021 18:33

Yes of course we would!
