Pampas grass in a bedroom?!

Posting here partly shamelessly for traffic and also because I feel like I'm the last to be enlightened.

So we've moved our bed and now have a small gap between the bed and the wall. I've suggested a plant but it's not wide enough for a plant pot. I thought maybe tall pampas grass in a slim vase but a quick Google tells me that's a definite sign that you're a swinger.

Is it? I'm not, by the way.

Can anybody suggest something else to fill the gap please? Or do I go ahead and embrace the fluffiness of the swingers pampas grass?

I have pampas grass that I'm very proud of. I was going away for a week and was worried it wouldn't get watered so I thought it'd leave it outside the holiday accommodation and water it. I was not aware of link to swinging.

Once we arrived there were loads of knocks on the door all week and plenty of friendly people popping by for a chat. It was a fun but exhausting week. I should mention it was center parcs and so that obviously presented further challenges given we all know what goes on there.

Anyway I say grow it with pride and embrace your new lifestyle.

GrinGrin I have pampas grass in about six rooms in the house! I love it! Had no idea about swinging connections until far too late.

I'd recommend stix and stems for pampas grass if you haven't found your perfect pampas yet, it's the best quality I've found!

It’s only a sign of swinging if it’s planted in your front garden… according to legend Grin

Merryoldgoat · 07/09/2021 17:39

My aunt has Pampas Grass in her front garden… 😱

ChessieFL · 07/09/2021 17:43

Unless you invite lots of people to look around your bedroom you’re fine. And if you’re always inviting people to look round your bedroom they’ll probably think you’re a swinger anyway, pampas grass or not!!

We've got pampas grass in the front and back gardens. The previous owners planted it.

theshadeofgreen · 07/09/2021 17:53

@ChessieFL excellent point.

Only me and DH will see it so I just need to make sure I'm he doesn't get any ideas.

@santaslittlehohoho I'll take a look now, I need the stems really long. What colour do you have? Our walls are white and the room is otherwise navy so I can't decide between white and natural.... but then will white look particularly 'un'natural?

I wouldn't have it purely because it's a dust catcher.
A pretty dust catcher tho

Hawkins001 · 07/09/2021 17:56

Foxglove ?

santaslittlehohoho · 07/09/2021 18:25

@theshadeofgreen I have the beige downstairs in a room with white walls and Hague blue walls, natural pampas against white walls and some greige against beige walls! The extra fluffy is great - and if you've got a vase you can send them photos and they'll suggest pampas to suit!

furbabymama87 · 07/09/2021 18:30

It's in your bedroom that only you and your DH will see so who cares about the swinging thing? I've only ever seen that referenced on here. I've got it in the living room, I just like the look of it.

noodlezoodle · 07/09/2021 20:27

How about eucalyptus instead?

Thinkling · 07/09/2021 21:39

So…to make it even more amusing, it doesn’t come fluffy. You have to fluff it…

takehomepay · 07/09/2021 21:44

I like it in the bedroom, not in the garden.
