So tomorrow I have a mammogram
I'm not worried as such about it..I've had one before ..this I'll be my second I'm 52
BUT I have got myself scared that the machine won't stop when my breast is on the plate and I'll be in agony and maimed and bleeding etc

Tell I'm being silly and this CANT happen !?!?

Or the wheels of your car might drop off en route........

@StoneofDestiny that's really unkind when the op is clearly worried about this.

@Lulu1919 of course this won't happen, well I haven't had one but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't they've used these machines for years and years, you will be absolutely fine !! Xx

That can't happen, there are safety features built in to the machine. When you arrive tell the practitioner your worries and they will talk you through the process and discuss your concerns. Anything that we don't do routinely can make us feel anxious, but it will be totally fine. Good luck

Oops, my apologies. It was such an extreme worry I thought it was made in jest

Lulu1919 · 07/09/2021 20:27

Pleased to hear!

think about how many they do each day....
and when I made an appointment today they were available on Saturdays or Sundays too.
If a single person had had a breast guillotined off by a malfunctioning scanner, I'm sure that the daily mail would have blasted it out on the front page.
