A few months ago I found some lumps on my left breast, it took me 11 weeks to get a referral to the breast clinic as I had to phone the doctors everyday to get an appointment, only to be told they had no appointments left and to try again the next day... or I would be given an appointment with no specific time frame and would miss the call as working full time as was in meetings or was in a dental appointment etc... (this happened twice)
This continued for 9 weeks before I refused to leave the surgery while making a fool out of myself until I had seen someone.
I had surgery the following week.
Last week I’ve found another lump on my right breast, I’ve tried calling to be told no appointment and to try again, or try their online services, which I cannot use as I don’t have photo ID (passport won’t be accepted as it expired last month and I cannot drive) have explained this to be told to try and phone in the morning. I have done so and there is 33 people in the queue. (I’m still on hold)
I can’t make an appointment even a routine one as they only accept on the day appointments.
AIBU in thinking this is just completely unacceptable and that I shouldn’t have to make a fool out of myself in trying to get an breast referral appointment.
