What is this?

Family member soon to get married. Quite a volatile couple, were very off before they became on and settled down.

Various occasions they have both (male and female) made remarks about me and my Sister doing ‘stuff’ without our husbands.

A couple of examples, I could probably reference about four more.

I went camping alone then the week after with my husband. Took a photo of dogs in the boot of car and posted on social media ‘packing complete’ one of them replied ‘husband? 🤷🏼‍♀️’ (Wondering whether I was taking my husband the second time)

A family meet up, various ages, couples, single people. My Husband stayed home to watch the rugby, my Sister’s husband simply didn’t fancy going. One member of said couple commented ‘how does he get away without coming?’

Said couple’s wedding coming up. Me and my Husband are on holiday. My Sister is going, and the rest of her childcare are at the wedding so her husband isn’t going (no children at wedding) No big deal. Two messages from the couple expressing how they hope my Sister will still enjoy herself at the wedding and how sorry they are her husband isn’t coming.

Why are they so judgemental about other people’s circumstances/marriages/arrangements or AIBU?

This sounds like a total non issue? I've re read your post a few times and cannot fathom the issue? Do you not like them? Are you trying to find problems?Confused

I wouldn't even give this a single thought, honestly. Who cares what they think or why they think that way. It's none of their concern.

Littleants · 05/09/2021 21:41

Its a total I’ll do me and you do you issue. Brush it off

Sounds like your reading far too much into innocent comments.

Still1nLove · 05/09/2021 21:44

Sounds like normal comments. Not having a go or judging your relationship

They sound like odd people who think that people in couples can no longer function independently.
