The Sun, The Mail, The Mirror, Essex Live... I'm looking at you.

Yes, it's a public forum, and I know it's been happening for a long time, but my god it's ever day! There is something so sleazy about stealing a user's story from what they clearly think it a safe corner of the internet, not to mention hideously lazy. What's worse is that the "journalist" often embellishes the story to make it sound way more dramatic than the original thread, and then posters in the comments section on Facebook write "How sad, running to the papers about XYZ"... but they bloody didn't!!

That felt good.

The media is that large now they just need something, anything, to provide content.

The best examples of this are “Check Out X’s Luxury Mansion”. You click on the story and it’s just a load of photos nicked off Instagram.

Apologies for typos - fat thumbs!

Yep, I've noticed stories being pinched from Instagram. Especially loathe the deliberately goady stuff designed to make the reader judge whoever's body they are thrusting into the limelight! I really hoped it would be different by now...

I would honestly have no idea which stories are stolen because I don’t read the news! I watch the headlines at 6am and 10pm on telly and that’s it. I doubt the trashy kind of shit that gets swept up on here to get splashed around in the tabloids makes it to sensible news Grin I might be mistaken but ignorance is bliss. Feel free to quote me journos!
