Is it difficult as a mature student

I started in my early 30’s, it wasn’t easy especially with a house and 2 kid’s to contend with but I feel I had more life experience and determination than some of the younger members of the cohort which helped me along.

I started late 20s, it was different because I had 2 small dc so not exactly into the party scene. I did feel their was a gap between me and my colleagues and as a result the mature students (who were much more mature than me) tended to stick together.

I was technically a mature student at 23, but was single, had no children and there was no issue with the age gap. I think I had a normal university experience, except I probably took the studying more seriously than I would if I’d gone when I was 18.

Do you mean full time?

I did it part-time in the evenings when I was in my early 30s and we were all ‘mature’ students.

I went to uni twice as a mature student, 23-26 and then 29-31.

I didn’t find it weird or difficult at all. There are so many people of all ages that everyone blended in. On my courses were people age18 through to 70s.

I wend back to university at 40 and lived in accomodation on campus for the entire time, made some fantastic younger friends and had a great time. Enjoy it, you'll be suppised.

I have attempted uni a few times.. last time was in my mid 30s. It was a healthcare course which tends to attract a lot of mature students anyway. We outnumbered the sixth-form leavers.

Uni is as difficult as you make it. Being a bit older wont make it harder.
