To go to A&E

Hi,

Sorry for the click bait title but I had a c section in January and since then I've been having problems with my stomach, thought it was normal but started passing red blood when going to the toilet from my back passage honestly ignored it because I'm an idiot and continued to suffer with stomach pain and whatever - just been to the toilet and I'm passing blood clots, biggish ones so tried to call 111 but no answer, in more pain and a and e is 10 minutes away so tempted to go in for help but don't know if I'm being unreasonable and it's nothing.

Posted here as I know posters are straight talking and will tell me if I'm being silly.

Thank you

Go to A&E. If you can take photos of the clots with some sort of size reference then that might be helpful.

HurryUpAndWait23 · 02/09/2021 20:20

Could you have piles?

I'm guessing you mean passing them from your bottom?

I think given that you have had recent abdominal surgery, it would be sensible to go to A&E.

HurryUpAndWait23 · 02/09/2021 20:21

Oh sorry not that recent abdominal surgery.

Hmm, has it been bleeding all this time?

WobblyInAllTheRightPlaces · 02/09/2021 20:22

Passing clots doesn’t sound like blood from piles.

Hope you’re going to a&e.

HollowTalk · 02/09/2021 20:22

Definitely go to A&E. I hope everything is ok.

It's been on and off, I was meant to sort it in may but didn't, realise this is my own fault.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 02/09/2021 21:14

Yes A&E

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/09/2021 21:14

Get yourself there, quick sharp. Probably nothing major but you need to be sure.
Best friend is a GP, always says she’d rather see 10 false alarms than miss an emergency.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 02/09/2021 21:16

I even went there yesterday because I'd fallen and cut my leg but the bruising had spread everywhere and my friend who is a nurse advised me to get it checked. Turned out that was fine but my wound was starting to get infected. Now on antibiotics. Your situation sounds way more of an emergency than mine. Hope you're ok xx

Muchmorethan · 02/09/2021 21:29

Yes go to A&E. They hopefully can do a scan to rule out anything immediately life threatening. Hopefully a colonoscopy will show it's a bowel issue like IBS or diverticulitis

TartanJumper · 02/09/2021 21:31

Nobody can really advise you on here, if you are concerned go to A+E to be checked out.

wheretoliveplz · 02/09/2021 21:41

Hope you're at A and E being taken care of OP. Thanks

ittakes2 · 02/09/2021 22:16

Definately go to A&E although as blood clots are not normal but try not to worry - red blood is a sign of active bleeding often from piles - its black dark old blood which could be a sign of something sinister.

Genegenieee · 02/09/2021 22:59

Hope you are ok OP and A&E can help you

pennypan · 03/09/2021 00:34

Thank you everyone, it was worth coming up as I've been referred to the surgical team who can hopefully tell me more.
