Mammogram further assessment

Sorry, here for traffic as my post on GH has slipped down already. I've received an invitation for an assessment at the breast clinic, following routine mammogram.
I'm not over anxious as I've read the blurb saying 10%of women get recalled and even then it's a tiny % of them who have breast cancer
And yet....here I am, simultaneously getting my Christmas shopping online and posting for a handhold 🙄
Only my DH will be told about this, no point in worrying anyone irl.
Looking forward to hearing the experiences of others, thank you Flowers

Is it your first mammogram? Quite a high percentage of women are recalled as a lot have lymph nodes in strange places and these will show as an anomaly. They need to be checked but if nothing sinister will stay on your record so you won't be recalled subsequently.

I have just been through this. They spotted calcifications on my mammogram so took some samples of them, fortunately it all came back benign. It is worrying until they can confirm it's all normal. My appointments were over a three week period so not too long to worry.
Hope your as fortunate as I was.

I know it's easy to say stop worrying but please try. When I was recalled a couple of years ago it was just a cyst which they popped there and then.

I had a lump and was sent on a 14 day Referral, but apparently I have "dense" breasts, which apparently means that there is not a lot of fat on them. I had to have an ultrasound and then got called back for an MRI with contrast to see better. I was given the all clear. Try not to worry, and if it is anything then it would seem they'd have caught it early

Thanks, the lymph node explanation makes sense. I've had mammogram and lumpectomy before. 15 years or so ago. Concensus was just lumpy boobs at the time. I wonder if the routine stuff does not include medical notes, though I did tell them at my appointment. Thanks Smile

Thanks, I'm pretty good at putting things to the back of my mind, I think I just wanted to say it all out loud really. I'm a fairly pragmatic sort really. I appreciate the good wishes and hearing the positive stories.
There's just one small corner of me that wants to start nesting, finishing the Christmas shopping, painting the bathroom, so maybe more anxious than think lol.
Have been here before and I know it passes.
Smile

I had this three months ago and the worry pre the appointment was awful. I had another mammogram, an ultrasound and a fine needle biopsy taken. All was OK, some benign cells. I got myself in a dreadful state about the biopsy in particular and although unpleasant the pain was not too bad. I found the care and kindness from staff at the breast clinic to be exceptional and felt reassured throughout the tests done. There was a phone number to ring for any queries. I didn't use it but worth you doing if you're worried.
